More about this course

This course is designed for a student new to the federal loan process or a seasoned borrower who wants to brush up on the details. Starting with the basics, this course covers distinct types of federal loans and the many tools available to you as a student loan borrower. You will also learn strategies and methods for borrowing wisely, including how to borrow less and the ongoing benefits of proper money management. Finally, the course gives a brief overview of repayment options and tackles the common fear of what might happen if you are unable to repay your loans.

Important Note: A federal court has blocked the U.S. Department of Education (ED) from implementing the Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) Plan and parts of other income-driven repayment (IDR) plans. As federal student loan policies continue to evolve, certain course content may no longer reflect current law. We are closely monitoring these developments and will update the material as new guidance is finalized. Please visit the Federal Student Aid website or consult your loan servicer for additional information.
